ACCESS:

SUMMER: Drive to the Mt Field National Park - follow the road to the visitor centre (but don't turn into there), continue on and the road trends left and within 150 meters swings right and heads uphill turning into a gated dirt road, you're now on the Dobson Highway (no really!). Follow the Dobson Highway (approx 25 minutes) until it ends at the Lake Dobson car park. Near the bottom end of the car park is a small bridge and gate, this is the access to the jeep trail that leads up to the top of the mountain and to the Oldina Lodge. This is the designated spot to meet if someone is giving you access or picking you up or your starting point for the walk up the mountain (25 minutes walk).

WINTER: In winter, when the jeep trail is impassable due to snow, there's a 25 minute walk from where you leave your car at the Lake Dobson car park uphill to the Lodge. The walking is generally easy, however if your trudging through fresh snow it can be harder. The easiest route is to start at the Jeep trail bridge / gate and and follow this all the way to the top. The first lodge that you come to near the top of the trail is the Mawson Ski Club. This is more or less on an Y intersection, turning left and uphill takes you to the ski area. continue to the right and along the level contour, past Mawson Ski Club Lodge and the Oldina lodge is roughly 100 meters from the intersection itself.
